One of the reasons you choose your Porsche is for its sleek and stylish exterior. The scientifically designed car paint on the body adds even more to your car’s sporty, luxurious, and high-quality image. Unfortunately, even paint on a Porsche can become worn or dull over time. As your Porsche dealership, we’d like to advise you on some smart ways to protect your paint for longer.

3 Smart Ways to Protect the Car Paint on Your Porsche

Wash Your Porsche Regularly

Dirt, mud, and bird droppings are just some of the things that can stick to your car’s paint when you’re driving. If they’re not regularly removed, they not only look unsightly, but they can also damage your paint. Bird droppings, for example, contain chemicals that can eat into the paint. These chemicals alter the color of the paint and will leave visible color differences in the paint if they’re not quickly cleaned.

Washing your car can be a fun family event if you have kids to help you. If you don’t have time to wash the car yourself, an auto wash can do the job for you. Before you use an auto wash, look at the condition of the rollers and the condition of the auto wash facility. Worn or damaged rollers may wash your car, but they can leave scratches in the paint as they pass over your car.

Don’t Forget To Wax

The final layer of paint on your car is known as a clear coat, and it protects the paint from fading and scratches. Waxing our car covers the clear coat in an additional protective layer. Wax provides additional protection for the paint from UV rays in sunlight and also protects against minor scratches. A good quality wax should protect your car for at least six months.

Waxing has the additional benefit of slightly improving fuel efficiency. The wax covering on your paint adds to the renowned drag resistance of your Porsche, allowing you to make fewer trips to the gas station. We advise waxing your car in spring and once again before winter. Summer and winter are the two seasons that contribute the most to worn paint.

Remove Scratches ASAP

Scratches in the paint can be unavoidable at times. Grit, sand, or other hard road debris can hit and scratch the paint. These scratches might be difficult to see when they first appear, but they will grow worse in time. Scratches represent damage to the paint surface, and hot or cold conditions can cause them to expand.

We have a fully-equipped paint shop, and we can easily and efficiently remove scratches and return the paint to showroom standard again.
